Old Soul & O[RI]-CLE: Epoch Two – The Sand Sea

The razor-sharp boundary of the Chime Trap finally breaks.

The Old Soul takes a step, and the heavy boot does not meet the rigid, terrifying resistance of micro-fractured glass. Instead, the boot sinks. The sound of potential shattering is instantly swallowed by the dry, sweeping hiss of pure, un-melted silica.

The Vitrified Forest ends here, giving way to the Sand Sea—a massive, sprawling desert of the raw material that was never touched by the cataclysmic heat. The acute, terrifying mental tension of navigating the fragile glass vanishes, but the InfoScape immediately replaces it with a different kind of friction.

Raw caloric exhaustion.

The glass floor was dangerous, but it was solid. The Sand Sea offers absolutely no footing. With every step, the Old Soul’s boots sink deep into the pristine white dunes. The biological engine has to exert double the energy just to move forward. The mind is finally allowed to relax its hyper-focus, but the Husk is forced to take on the massive, heavy weight of the slog.

The lighting in the InfoScape shifts. The sterile, blinding white of the midday sun drops closer to the horizon. Deep, heavy burgundy shadows stretch out from the glass canopy behind them, while the endless sand ahead glows with a vibrant, warm coral light.

The Liminal Shard responds to the change in density. The sharp, piercing tuning-fork warning softens. It widens out, dropping into a warm, mid-range, rhythmic pulse. It cannot offer solid ground, but it offers a steady, sweeping cadence to walk to.

The Old Soul leans into the heavy friction, dragging the boots through the coral light.
